Aston Martin veteran Fernando Alonso has collaborated with the British carmaker and Formula 1 outfit in order to launch the brand's latest supercar, Valiant. The car is set to make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024.

Aston Martin has announced that the Valiant will be a limited-edition sportscar, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the final quarter of 2024.

The Valiant is the latest creation from the in-house bespoke division, Q by Aston Martin, known for handling some of the brand’s most extraordinary projects. The Valiant is powered by a 745PS Twin Turbo 5.2-litre V12 engine, paired with a six-speed manual transmission, promising an exhilarating driving experience.

The car was originally conceived as a personal commission from Fernando Alonso, who sought a lightweight, more extreme, race car-inspired version of the Aston Martin Valour.

The company will release only 38 units of the Valiant. The vehicle is designed by the Aston Martin team alongside Formula One driver and two-time world champion Fernando Alonso. According to the team's press release, all 38 units of the vehicle have been pre-sold. As per reports from Reuters, the car is set to be priced at £2 million.

The project marks the second supercar to be directly influenced by Alonso following the Alpine A110 R Fernando Alonso, produced by his former employer, Alpine. That limited-edition model, announced in October 2022, was a tribute to Alonso's career with only 32 units produced to reflect his 32 Grand Prix victories.

Fernando Alonso expressed his excitement about the Valiant's unveiling, stating (via astonmartin.com):

"Valour was a spectacular celebration of Aston Martin's 110th anniversary, and stirred me to create a more extreme, race car inspired version that was track focussed, while also delivering a thrilling drive on-road. Valiant is born from my passion for driving at the limit and I have enjoyed working closely with the Q by Aston Martin team on both the design and technical specification and believe we have created a masterpiece."

Aston Martin's Valiant boasts impressive engineering feats aimed at reducing weight and enhancing performance. Notable weight-saving measures include a 3D-printed rear subframe, which sheds three kilograms, and a magnesium torque tube that cuts an additional 8.6 kilograms. The inclusion of 21-inch magnesium wheels trims 14 kilograms and a motorsport-spec lithium-ion battery reduces the weight by another 11.5 kilograms.

Collectively, these modifications result in a weight reduction of approximately 75 pounds. Additionally, the wheels feature aero-disc covers, inspired by the 1980 RHAM/1 ‘Muncher’ Le Mans racer, designed to improve aerodynamics and minimize drag.

Under the hood, the Valiant is equipped with a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine. While similar to the one in the Aston Martin Valour, this engine has been upgraded to deliver 743 horsepower, an increase from the Valour's 705 hp.
