The 2024 F1 US GP was not only attended by regular fans of the sport; it had a star-studded audience with many celebrities flocking to the Circuit of the Americas.
The race in Austin has always been an extravagant one, as it was one of the longest F1 races in the US. Even though there are several new ones that take place in the West, the oldest one continues to take place in Austin. Hence, it has become a melting pot for many American celebrities.
In this year's US GP, famous podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan arrived on the track with his wife, Jessica Ditzel. World-famous American chef Gordon Ramsay was also spotted in the paddock, where he met and hugged Joe Rogan.
Another popular personality who was at COTA was the Sting, a famous American music artist. Sting was also involved in the award ceremony after the sprint race, where he gave respective sprint race trophies to Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and Carlos Sainz.
Rap God rapper Eminem was also present during the 2024 F1 US GP but was mainly involved in the concert where he sang his famous single, Lose Yourself. Sting also performed his famous songs in front of a massive crowd of F1 fans.
Apart from these VIPs, other big names graced the race in Austin. Among them were Olympic fencer Miles Chamley-Watson, filmmaker Cole Walliser, singer Shaboozey, and rapper Quavo.
COTA entertainment head talks about Eminem's concert at the 2024 F1 US GP
The music and entertainment head at the Circuit of the Americas, Glynn Wedgewood, recently talked about landing a concert with Eminem for the 2024 F1 US GP.
Speaking to Autosport, Wedgewood explained how COTA was trying to make a deal with the famous rapper to perform even before the 2024 season. However, due to the artist's tight schedule, he was unable to.
"We weren't looking specifically at Eminem for this year. These conversations started a while back and we were looking at trying to make the Eminem show work last year. That didn't work out with his work schedule, but those conversations continued and here we are: He's here this year," Wedgewood said.
Wedgewood also said that this was Eminem's first proper concert in the US after 2019 when he went on a tour.
"His only North American show. I think he hasn't played since 2019 on tour. And he's just dropped an album like two months ago. This is massive, you know. It's a really big coup. So we're all really excited. So that's kind of in a nutshell how we go about it," he added.
The 2024 F1 US GP was won by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. His teammate Carlos Sainz finished second, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen and McLaren's Lando Norris finished P3 and P4, respectively.
