F1 fans recently reacted to Daniel Ricciardo's Singapore GP picture collection posted on his official Instagram account. These pictures went live days after Red Bull announced his departure from their B team, Racing Bulls (RB).
As the 2024 F1 season progressed, several reports emerged that the Honey Badger could be removed from Red Bull's camp. These rumors peaked during the Singapore GP, and eventually, proved to be accurate. Following the race, Ricciardo gave hugs to a number of drivers and staff of his team in the paddock, hinting that it was his last day. A few days following the race at Marina Bay, the Austrian team made his exit official.
On October 11, Ricciardo shared a few photos from the Singapore race weekend. He was pictured hanging out with members of his garage crew, and McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. His race gear and helmet from his last race were also captured.
Many fans expressed their emotions after seeing Ricciardo's last few pictures in the F1 paddock as a driver. Some fans wrote they started crying after seeing the post, while others claimed they barely moved on from the fact that the Australian had left F1, but the pictures brought all the emotions back.
"JUST LIKE THAT IM SOBBING AGAIN," one fan wrote.
"I'll cry now bye" another added.
"Daniel...we all just stopped crying," a user wrote.
The helmet swap between Oscar Piastri and Daniel Ricciardo was also captured in one picture, which melted the hearts of many as they commented on it.
"AWW WE GOT OSCAR AND DANNY HELMET SWAP IM SOBBING?!?" one follower mentioned.
"The helmet swap with Osc ;(" another chimed in.
"STOP THE HELMET SWAP IS TOO MUCH FROM ME," a fan exclaimed.
Ever since the 2024 F1 season began, rumors of Daniel Ricciardo continuing with RB or being promoted to Red Bull and replacing Sergio Perez circulated. However, his consistently poor performances soon shifted the rumors that RB may fire him for his results. The 2024 season saw the Honey Badger score 12 points in 18 races. He was mostly behind his teammate Yuki Tsunoda in the standings and race results.
