Red Bull driver Max Verstappen's girlfriend Kelly Piquet responded to a query regarding the name of her unborn child with the F1 driver. The Brazilian model is expecting her first child with the four-time F1 world champion after announcing the good news ahead of the season finale last month in Abu Dhabi.
The two have been together for over four years and are one of the most well-known couples in the F1 paddock. Piquet resides in Monaco in the Dutch driver's apartment with her daughter, Penelope, and their three cats.
The 35-year-old previously dated former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat from 2015 to 2019 and shares a five-year-old daughter with him.
In the comments section of one of her Instagram posts, Piquet was asked about the name of her unborn child.
"No name yet," Kelly Piquet replied.
It is reported that the couple might welcome their child in March, given that the 35-year-old is in her final trimester.
Kelly Piquet is the daughter of the former three-time F1 world champion Nelson Piquet Sr. Apart from being a model, Kelly is a social media influencer with 1.8 million Instagram followers and often uses her platform to discuss topics related to women's health.
When Kelly Piquet made an emotional plea regarding fake rumors online
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen's girlfriend Kelly Piquet had previously said she had been "navigating" through various fake rumors and allegations. The Brazilian gave an extended statement in an Instagram post in June last year, writing:
“For over three years, I've been navigating a very strange and upsetting wave of accusations, rumors, fabricated situations, fake testimonials, photoshopped screenshots... you name it. All the while staying silent and not playing into these ridiculous claims. Accusations made in the past months especially have taken on another level of defamation."
"Those who know me know that I would never put myself in such positions, say certain things, or act in such a way. I am far from perfect, but I do take pride in my values, morals and manners. Let that be clear. As a human being, the comments and hate affect me and the people around me deeply," Piquet added.
She concluded her statement by requesting people to verify the information before making accusations, as allegations had 'real-life consequences'.
Enraged by the situation, Max Verstappen supported his partner's statement and commented on the post. Despite allegedly facing online hate, the couple has gone strength-to-strength in their personal lives and continues to support each other's careers.
It was evidenced by Kelly Piquet's reaction to Verstappen winning the driver's championship at the Las Vegas Grand Prix last year after he finished P5 ahead of his title rival Lando Norris to claim his fourth-consecutive title.
