After losing the opportunity to win the Austrian Grand Prix last Sunday (June 30), Lando Norris has now arrived at Silverstone for the 2024 British Grand Prix. The young Briton has arrived in style for his home GP, in a limited-edition chromed Shelby Cobra.
With McLaren nailing the updates on their MCL38 race car, Norris has become one of the top contenders in the 2024 driver's championship with victory in the Miami GP and podium finishes in Australia (third), China (second), Emilia Romagna (second), Canada (second), and Spain (second). The #4 driver was gunning for his second win of the season in Austria. However, a late-race crash with reigning world champion Max Verstappen saw the McLaren driver DNFing.
Now, ahead of the race weekend at the iconic Silverstone circuit, Lando Norris has arrived at the venue in a chromed-out limited-edition Shelby Cobra sports car, gathering the attention of fans and onlookers alike.

A brief look at Lando Norris's Austrian Grand Prix weekend with McLaren F1 team
With a P2 finish in Canada and Spain, McLaren's Lando Norris began the Austrian Grand Prix weekend on a positive note. The Bristol-based driver qualified second in the Sprint Qualifying.
Norris managed to finish the race on the podium, behind Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen and his teammate Oscar Piastri, gaining six crucial points in the driver's championship. He qualified second for Sunday's race, 0.404 seconds behind Verstappen.
With the five lights going out, Norris managed to hold position against the early charge from Mercedes-AMG's George Russell. As the race progressed, the #4 driver began charging rapidly at the race leader, making several attempts at passing the Red Bull driver. However, on Lap 64, the two lead-runners collided on Turn 3.
The collision resulted in a puncture for both drivers. Limping the car back to the pit caused severe damage to the floor of the McLaren, resulting in Norris's retirement. Unlike the British driver, Verstappen was able to continue and finish the race in fifth place, even with a 10-second penalty.
Despite the setback, Norris will be looking ahead to win the British Grand Prix. As of now, he stands in second position in the 2024 driver's standing, 81 points adrift of the leader, Verstappen.
