It is being reported that McLaren F1 driver Lando Norris will star in Canadian superstar singer Tate McRae's music video for her latest song, 2 Hands. The British driver is currently experiencing his best season at the pinnacle of motorsport so far and currently finds himself in the title race against Max Verstappen.
Ever since making his F1 debut in 2019, the 24-year-old has become a fan favorite for his genuine and fun nature off the track and his rapid pace on the track. Owing to this popularity, Norris is also seemingly one of the most marketable drivers on the grid, given his endorsements with McLaren, Bell Helmets, Wearegrip, ADD Management, and PAP.
In a surprising report from Pop Crave on November 2, Lando Norris is rumored to star in Tate McRae's music video for 2 Hands, which will be released on November 14. The 21-year-old Canadian is one of the most recognizable young singers in the world and has been in the public eye since the age of 13 when she participated in the American reality dance series, So You Think You Can Dance.
The McLaren F1 driver is no stranger to being closely associated with musicians given that superstar DJ Martin Garrix is one of his best friends and is often spotted in the F1 paddock supporting the Brit.
Lando Norris on his favorite genre in music: "Sometimes it will be one, and sometimes will be another"
Speaking to Rolling Stone last year ahead of his Miami GP race, McLaren driver Lando Norris said he did not have one go-to genre in music and would swing between a variety ranging from lo-fi to hip-hop.
"I guess I never have just one specific genre or type of song that I listen to. It can easily go from just very chilled low-fi beats to — I never go probably much more crazy than just normal kind of pop and hip-hop...And it will change every weekend. Sometimes it will be one, and sometimes will be another," he said.
The 24-year-old also mentioned how he tended to listen to a song on repeat if he liked it or associated a distinct memory with it.
"Sometimes I’ll listen to a song and it’s literally the only thing I want to listen to. I’m that kind of guy who listens to it on repeat, literally 100 times, and my trainer hates it. It’s also a memory thing. A lot of songs I listen to, I listen to once the first time, or because someone tells me to listen to it, but then I’ll listen to it after that because it reminds me of the memory of the situation when I heard it first," Norris added.
On track, Lando Norris will start two places ahead of Max Verstappen in the Sprint race in Brazil and would hope to gain as many points as possible in the session on Saturday.
Norris has a golden opportunity to inflict maximum damage in terms of points to the Red Bull driver's championship lead, given the latter would take a five-place grid penalty in the main race on Sunday.
