Once Lewis Hamilton moves to Ferrari, he will receive the privilege of staying in Enzo Ferrari's house at Fiorano. This will be the first time Prancing Horse will allow a driver to stay in the Ferrari founder's home since Michael Schumacher.

Hamilton signed a contract agreement with the Maranello-based team earlier this season where he agreed to join the Fred Vasseur-led team on a multi-year deal. Once he makes the switch to Maranello from Brackley at the end of this season, he would have the entitlement of staying at Ferrari's Modena Province home.

As per Carla Vanzini of Sky Sports Italia, the Brit will stay at Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari's house in Maranello, the base of Scuderia Ferrari. This will be the first time the Prancing Horse would allow a driver to stay at Ferrari's home since Michael Schumacher, the Italian team's legendary former driver.

"Since Schumacher, no other driver has had this privilege,” Vanzini wrote, as per deni on X. “Hamilton will stay, whenever he’s in Fiorano, at Enzo Ferrari’s house [in the track area]. So he won’t be seen much around Maranello.”

Fans reacted to the update as soon as it surfaced on social media. Here are some reactions taken from micro-blogging site X:

Reacting to the report, a fan wrote, "Lesson 1 for Mercedes. How to treat your GOAT."
"Ferrari told Mercedes "I show you how to treat a goat," wrote another fan, reiterating the same.
Another fan wrote, "No greater honor. Not even LAF and F80 buyers get to enter. The last influencer buyer in there was Ferrari Collector, David Lee, if I recall."
A fan wrote on Ferrari's treatment of Hamilton, "At least his new team will treat him right!"
"Ferrari is already using Lewis to reinvigorate their brand. Anchoring him in their history. Their romance," another fan wrote.
A fan wrote on Hamilton's priority at Ferrari, "Lewis ain't even in the team yet, and Charles has already gotten the second driver treatment."

Hamilton will join under Fred Vasseur, the Ferrari boss, and will race alongside Charles Leclerc. He will replace Carlos Sainz, who is set for a Williams move.

Lewis Hamilton signed a contract with Ferrari earlier this year despite having a one-plus-one-year deal with Mercedes, which he signed in mid-2023. Naturally, the sudden Ferrari announcement has come as a shock for both fans and experts.

However, Hamilton has an explanation. Here's what he said about his change of mind:

“In the summer, we signed, and obviously, I, at that time, saw my future with Mercedes. But an opportunity came up in the new year and I decided to take it," Lewis Hamilton said.
“I feel like… it was obviously the hardest decision that I think I’ve ever had to make. Obviously, I’ve been with Mercedes for, I think it’s like 26 years they’ve supported me, and we’ve had an absolutely incredible journey together. We’ve created history within the sport, and it’s something I take a lot of pride in and I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved," he added.

Lewis Hamilton arrived at Mercedes in 2013 from McLaren, where he claimed his first title in 2008. With Mercedes, he clinched six out of his seven F1 titles and helped the Silver Arrows win eight Constructors' championships.
