Ferrari's reserve driver Oliver Bearman is set to join the Haas F1 team in the 2025 Formula 1 season as a full-time driver. During an interview, the young British driver stated that Lewis Hamilton would be a great asset for the Scarlet Red team next year.

Ahead of the ongoing season, Hamilton announced his departure from Mercedes-AMG to join Scuderia Ferrari for the 2025 season. This news shook the F1 driver market, with a few drivers announcing big changes for the upcoming season in 2026. With the arrival of Hamilton in the team, the Italian marquee aims for glory in motorsport in the form of Championships, both drivers and constructors.

Now, Bearman has announced his debut as a full-time driver in Formula 1 with the American team. To recall, the 19-year-old shot to fame after he scored 6 points in his debut for Ferrari in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The young Brit was able to showcase his racecraft against established drivers such as Hamilton, Lando Norris, and Nico Hulkenberg.

Take a look at the X post by a Lewis Hamilton fan page, captioned:

Ollie Bearman on Lewis: "He's won seven world championships, and that's something that not many people can say. So he can bring a good mentality to the team, a winning mentality, and of course, his talent is not deniable. He's one of the best to have ever done it,..."1/2
"I hope that I learn a lot from him. And I hope that Ferrari will as well because I think he can be a great asset to the team," Bearman added.

Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu also stated that it is exciting to offer a younger talent like Bearman a full-time seat in Formula 1. With both Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen leaving the team next year, Haas will likely look to rope in Esteban Ocon or Valtteri Bottas as Bearman's teammate.

Lewis Hamilton congratulated Oliver Bearman on scoring points in his debut Formula 1 race with Ferrari

Oliver Bearman, Ferrari's replacement driver, got a dream start to his Formula 1 career this year. With Carlos Sainz going in for an emergency appendectomy ahead of the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the young British driver stepped in to fill his shoes at the Italian team.

Bearman managed to qualify in the 11th position for Ferrari at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. However, it was during the race when the #38 driver showed his raw talent. During the course of 50 laps on the floodlight-lit track in Saudi Arabia, Bearman was able to maximize on the SF-24 race car's outright pace.

He managed to outperform the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris to finish the race in seventh place. After the cooldown lap, the seven-time world champion Hamilton congratulated the debutant F1 driver on his impressive run.

"It’s a fantastic effort to achieve what he’s done. It’s real proof that he’s a great driver for the future," Hamilton told Canal+ (a French media conglomerate) during the post-race media interaction.
