Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton was ecstatic after his NFL team Denver Bronchos won a key match against current SuperBowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on January 5. The seven-time F1 world champion has made a name for himself both on and off the track in the past two decades.

Apart from being arguably the greatest driver in F1 history, the British driver shares a passion for other sports and regularly supports his teams. After acquiring ownership of the NFL's Denver Bronchos a few years ago, the 39-year-old often cheers it on during games. He did the same after the Bronchos beat the Chiefs 38-0 and moved on to the playoffs for the first time in the last eight years.

Hamilton expressed his delight with the performance on his Instagram story and wrote:

"Amazing result. Couldn't be happier for the team. So deserved. So historic. Onto the playoffs."

The Denver Bronchos had previously been beaten by the Kansas City Chiefs 16-14 in November and were able to turn the tables. They will face the Buffalo Bills in the Wildcard round on January 12.

When Lewis Hamilton spoke about acquiring the Denver Bronchos

Former Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton said it was an "amazing opportunity" and an "honor" to be associated with the Denver Bronchos as he told the tale of his longtime interest in American Football while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2022:

"Honestly, it's such an honor and such an amazing opportunity. I remember when I was like nine years old, I used to live on an American airbase for a short period of time in the UK, and that was the first time I became aware of it [NFL], and I used to play [video game] Madden. I've been to many Super Bowls, I've been to the first game in the UK.
I'm going to miss the one this weekend unfortunately because I'm racing in Mexico. Melody Hobson called me and said she had this amazing opportunity and would I like to a part of it, and I jumped at it. There's a real lack of black ownership (in the NFL), and I'm pushing for diversity constantly. There's a lot of work to do and I'm really proud to be part of it."

Hamilton will start his new journey with Ferrari in 2025. He exited Mercedes at the end of last year after a 12-year iconic tenure.
