Star F1 driver Lewis Hamilton's latest endeavor revolves around a revolutionary non-alcoholic drink named Almave, the world's first and only nonalcoholic spirit created from real blue agave.
Hamilton has always cherished tequila for its taste but doesn't like the alcohol part of the deal. This is what led to the creation of the unique product, which is crafted with a similar process as tequila and made from blue agave from Jalisco, Mexico.
Ahead of the Mexico GP, Lewis Hamilton launched Almave along with Iván Saldana, a master distiller of Casa Lumbre, a Mexico-based spirits producer.
"It's finally here. Welcome to @Almave, the world’s first and only non-alcoholic spirit created from real blue agave. Almave is for people like myself, who are always pushing the limits of whats possible, who enjoy the taste of tequila but are focused on balance, longevity, and living fully," he said on his Instagram post.
"When I first met @agabiotico, two things became clear: we both like tequila and something was missing from the market. Almave adapts time-honoured tequila-making practices to create a non alc spirit that doesn’t compromise on taste or quality. So proud to be a founder. I hope you approach it with an open mind, try it, and love it as much as I do. Let’s go beyond proof," he added.
In an interview with WWD, Ivan Saldana, Hamilton's business partner and co-founder, revealed that Almave's production follows the same steps as making tequila but skips the fermentation process.
"...It was truly working alongside Lewis Hamilton who shared my passion for this project that made it even more fulfilling. Lewis has always inspired me so when he approached us to work on Almave together, it was an easy ‘yes.’ Only someone with a true passion for innovation and creativity can achieve what he has. It was such a pleasure to bring our collective vision to life," he said, heaping praises on his business partner's vision.
Almave.com offers two nonalcoholic drinks: Almave Ámbar, which is designed for sipping at a retail price of $38.99, and Almave Blanco, made for mixing at $36.99, each for a 700-ml bottle.
Lewis Hamilton plans to launch the product in bars and retailers in the US and select international markets in 2024.
Lewis Hamilton yearns for a title battle with Max Verstappen
Following the conclusion of the titanic battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen for the 2021 championship, Mercedes has failed to deliver the seven-time F1 champion a race-winning car.
Hamilton is yearning for redemption, as he believes he is the only one capable of beating the Dutchman.
“I’m praying every day that we will close the gap [to Red Bull] and we’ll hit the ground running. I want to be fighting for the Championship, I want to be fighting Max. I believe I am one of the only drivers that can do so,” Hamilton said post US GP.
“But we’ve got to have the package, not only the car, but we’ve got to be operating better in our pit stops. There are so many areas we need to be levelling-up to be able to match the champions,” he continued.
F1 fans are also rooting for a rematch between the two titans.
