Red Bull driver Max Verstappen gave a hilarious response when he was asked about the breed of his new cat "Donatello". The Dutch driver resides in his Monaco apartment with his girlfriend Kelly Piquet and her five-year-old daughter Penelope Kvyat whom she shares with former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat, along with their three cats, Jimmy, Sassy, and Donatello.

During a live stream with Team Redline, Verstappen was asked about the breed of the newest household member "Donatello", to which he gave a one-word response:

"Cat."

Speaking with Sportskeeda in an exclusive interview, the 27-year-old discussed naming his cat "Donatello" and not "GP" after his race engineer:

“Cats and GP, I love that. Yeah, that's great. Yeah, they're all the same. If they would have been big enough, they’d want to kill you.”

GP Lambiase too expressed his disappointment (via Sky Sports):

“I'm a little bit disappointed. I think he just grabbed a new cat and he was saying he was going to call it GP but he has called it Donatello or something stupid like that.”

In 2023, Max Verstappen saved one of his cats stuck inside a room by knocking the door down.

When Max Verstappen shared the story of saving his cat

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen once shared on his Twitch Live Stream:

“I lost one cat for like three or four hours, I didn’t know where it was. I was walking around and suddenly the cat starts meowing behind a door so I was like, ‘Oh dear!’ It was a little closet room so it’s only a one-way entrance. I’m trying to open the door but it wasn’t want to open because a baby bed had fallen down behind the door in the storage room.
“The door was completely locked because the cat had pushed the bed down. I tried everything so I had to make a lovely hole in the door with a hammer. The cat must have been so scared, though, with all that noise in the dark. I almost broke my shoulder trying to go through the door - it didn’t really work out.”

Verstappen acknowledged he did not know how to repair the door. The Red Bull driver has remained steadfast in not bringing his cats to the F1 paddock despite some of his rivals bringing their dogs during race weekends.
