Max Verstappen's girlfriend Kelly Piquet shared a post on her social media platform about the events in Gaza owing to their ongoing conflict with Israel. The tussle has been going on for over a year with both parties showing no respite and intention of stopping.
Piquet, who has been going out with the Red Bull driver and three-time world champion since late 2020, is quite active on her social media and often shares her take on geo-political issues.
Recently, she took to her Instagram Stories to share a couple of posts from Marie Claire regarding the situation on the ground and difficulties faced, especially by pregnant women given the lack of hospitals in the area.
According to the posts, over 180 children are born in the region every day, despite it losing around seven to nine percent of its population. It reflected on the methods used by the medical staff to treat childbirth, including procedures using kitchen scissors and makeshift tents.
Max Verstappen's girlfriend reflects on the severe trolling on social media
Max Verstappen's girlfriend Kelly Piquet shared that for the past three years, she had been subjected to constant trolling on social media. Earlier in the year, she expressed on her Instagram post:
“For over 3 years I've been navigating a very strange and upsetting wave of accusations, rumors, fabricated situations, fake testimonials, photoshopped screenshots... you name it. All the while staying silent and not playing into these ridiculous claims. Accusations made in the past months especially have taken on another level of defamation."
"Those who know me know that I would never put myself in such positions, say certain things, or act in such a way. I am far from perfect, but I do take pride in my values, morals, and manners. Let that be clear. As a human being, the comments and hate affect me and the people around me deeply," she wrote.
She ended her post on a hopeful note and wrote:
“I hope those of you who have contributed to this take a moment to reflect on the real-life consequences of spreading lies and engaging in hate. Remember, as James Clear says, 'Every action we take is a vote for who we want to be'. Let's choose the better humans to ourselves and others.”
Kelly Piquet's heartful plea also got the support of his boyfriend Max Verstappen as the Red Bull driver called out the trollers while expressing his love for the Brazilian.
