Max Verstappen's sister Victoria shared an adorable picture of the three-time world champion and his nephew, Luca. The Red Bull driver headed into the summer break with a slight concern regarding the air of invincibility, as the rivals have seemingly caught up to the Austrian team.
The Milton-Keynes outfit has emerged as the dominant force in the new regulations as they along with Verstappen have won every single Constructor's and driver's title. Despite heading into the summer break leading both championships, the Dutch driver and the Austrian team would use the time away from the track to recharge their batteries and take stock.
Max Verstappen was spotted visiting his sister, Victoria, and spending time with his family, including her three kids. The 26-year-old's sister posted a picture on her Instagram story of her oldest son, Luca.
"Reunited," Victoria captioned the image.
Victoria Verstappen is the younger sister of the three-time world champion and has three kids with her partner, fitness influencer Tom Heuts. She has also been spotted with her two sons in the F1 paddock supporting her brother in several races such as in Zandvoort and Spielberg.
Max Verstappen terms Red Bull as his 'second family' amidst reports of Mercedes links
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen claimed that the team was like a 'second family' for him as he has been able to express himself completely ever since joining them in early 2016.
While appearing on Red Bull's "Talking Bulls" podcast, the Dutch driver spoke about some of his special memories and said (via PlanetF1):
“That first race with the team and the first championship [are the highlights]. That first race, of course, because I had just been promoted [from junior team Toro Rosso]. Some people still question whether that was the right decision. Fortunately, that weekend went very well. Of course, I was very happy about that, also for Helmut," Verstappen said.
“He (Helmut) was also very happy, of course, because it was his decision to put me in that car. That first title together, yes, that one was very emotional. Especially after such a year, which demanded a lot from everyone."
He further added:
"Those are moments I will never forget. But generally, also the relationship I have with the team. It definitely feels like a second family. I can really be myself here and that is also something very important for me.”
Max Verstappen has a contract with the Red Bull F1 team until the end of the 2028 season but he has been linked to a move to Mercedes ever since the beginning of the current season. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has made no secret in pursuing the reigning three-time world champion to join the German team as a replacement for Lewis Hamilton next year.
