Apart from being a triple Formula 1 world champion, Max Verstappen is also renowned for his exploits as a professional simulator racer. The Dutchman took a jibe at his title rival Lando Norris during a recent sim racing session.
Although Verstappen started the 2024 F1 season on a high note, both he and Red Bull Racing began facing tough competition from Norris and McLaren after the Miami Grand Prix. With crucial upgrades, the iconic British team was soon able to close the gap in both the driver's and constructor's tables.
The Verstappen-Norris rivalry has intensified since the US Grand Prix, where the two frenemies almost collided and went off-track. The #1 Red Bull racer faced criticism for his aggressive move from Norris as well as the British media. While McLaren is currently leading the Constructor's Championship, Norris is still 62 points behind Verstappen in the Driver's.
During a recent sim racing session, Verstappen took a jibe at Norris by using a meme of the Briton going off-track in Brazil as a livery for his Team Redline virtual race car. A snapshot of the 27-year-old driver's car was shared on X by a Verstappen fan page.

With three races remaining in the 2024 season, Verstappen will be looking to seal the deal in the driver's table at Las Vegas. However, considering McLaren's strong pace in dry weather, it will be a close battle between the two championship contenders.

Despite the intense rivalry for the 2024 F1 championship, reigning champion Max Verstappen and Lando Norris share a close friendship off the racetrack. The duo are often seen traveling together.
With their battle intensifying since the US Grand Prix, both drivers have been taking jibes at each other. During a recent sim racing event, Verstappen used a meme of Norris as a livery for his race car. However, the #1 Red Bull Racing driver clarified his intentions during the livestream.
"Well, we all know it’s fun and games, the livery. We’re for charity. Hopefully, nobody takes it too personal as well. We all love each other, we all respect each other!" Verstappen said.
