Michael Schumacher's nephew David Schumacher on Friday opened up about his experience of growing up. David, the son of Ralf Schumacher and nephew of Michael, revealed emotional and hard-hitting statements where he said that he was tired of defending himself and his father against his mother's allegations.
Cora Schumacher, the mother of David and ex-wife of Ralf Schumacher, a former F1 driver was in the news earlier this year after she claimed that the latter "used" her and "robbed" her of the best years when they were married.
This has come after Ralf Schumacher shared he was in a same-sex relationship back in July this year. He received widespread support from everywhere, including the F1 fraternity, but not from Cora Schumacher.
Soon after this, the ex-wife of the six-time Grand Prix winner began to bad mouth him publicly, and their son, David Schumacher, was not spared. The 22-year-old has now addressed the situation.
Schumacher took to his official Instagram account to share multiple stories where he opened up about the allegations against him and his father. Here's what he stated against his mother, Cora Schumacher, in a now-deleted post (via FormulaNerds on X).
"Unfortunately, my mother has, since I can remember - mental problems; as you can follow in her own social and other media, with ups and downs: When I was four or five years old, she wanted to drive the car against a tree with me - me in the passenger seat - and finish everything."
Ralf Schumacher got engaged to Cora-Caroline Brinkmann, a former model, in April 2001. They got married on October 5 of that year. A few days later on October 23, David Schumacher was born prematurely.
David Schumacher reveals his mother threatened him post his parents' divorce

In his statement on social media, David Schumacher also touched upon how he was threatened by his mother after Ralf and Cora Schumacher got divorced. However, he also stated that he tried to reconcile with her, but to no avail.
Here is what he stated:
"When my parents divorced in 2015, I was threatened by my mother that if I did not live with her, she would destroy my life's dream: that is, my dream of living a racing driver would be destroyed."
"I have given my mother a chance several times and tried several times to reconcile with her. Unfortunately, it never worked out, because she kept falling into a mental low and completely freaked out again."
Ralf and Cora Schumacher got divorced back in 2015. However, the couple fought for the custody of David Schumacher before it was eventually settled, with Cora receiving a €6 million settlement (per Motorsport).
