Former F1 legend and seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher will soon become a grandfather as his daughter Gina is pregnant with her first child. Gina married Iain Bethke in September this year.
Schumacher, one of the most influential names in the F1 world, hadn't been seen in public for a decade after suffering from a skiing accident in 2013. He has been in isolated care ever since. Apart from wife Corinna and kids, the motorsports legend is only allowed to be visited by trusted doctors and family friends.
In September this year, the Schumacher family came together to celebrate the wedding of Michael's daughter Gina. The 27-year-old tied the knot with Iain Bethke at her family home in Villa Yasmin, located in Puerto De Andraitx, Mallorca.
A few months later, Gina announced her pregnancy via a unique social media post. She shared pictures of her pony with a little board that said:
"My new rider coming April 2025."
She wrote in the caption:
"Impatiently awaiting the arrival of our little girl 💖🦄"
Michael Schumacher's son Mick Schumacher followed in his father's path to become a racing driver. However, his debut with the Haas F1 team proved to be disappointing, and he was eventually replaced following the 2022 season. Mick then joined Mercedes as a reserve driver before parting ways after the conclusion of the 2024 season.
Schumacher's family landed in trouble recently as a group of men reportedly blackmailed them into leaking sensitive images of Michael. More than hundreds of images and videos were apparently transferred to hard drives.
The family's trusted bodyguard is apparently one of the accused in the extortion case. However, the family wasted no time reporting the matter to the police, and a trial is currently being conducted in Germany.
Michael Schumacher reportedly attended his daugther's wedding
Gina Schumacher, the eldest daughter of Michael Schumacher, tied the knot with Iain Bethke in a close-knit ceremony in September this year. The wedding took place at her family vacation home in Mallorca.
Moreover, metro.co.uk reported that Michael was present at Gina's wedding, marking his first public appearance since the accident. The former F1 legend was likely present in Mallorca to bless his daughter.
Meanwhile, the wedding reportedly took place amid intense secrecy and security. The guests' mobile devices were confiscated as only a few people were allowed to attend the wedding in person. Michael's wife, who has been particular about her husband's well-being, reportedly supervised the event to ensure complete privacy.
Metro.co.uk also reported that Mick Schumacher's girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic, has been added to the Schumacher family's inner circle by Corinna. She is also believed to have attended Gina's wedding.
