Recent reports claim that Michael Schumacher was reportedly seen in public during her daughter, Gina-Marie's wedding. This could have been the first time in 11 years that the legendary F1 driver was spotted in public.
After retiring from F1 in 2012, the German had a major accident in the French Alps while skiing with his son, Mick Schumacher. He lost control and hit his head on a rock. The F1 legend was later taken to the hospital where he was medically placed in an induced coma due to his traumatic brain injury. Since then, there has been little to no information about his health.
Ever since Michael Schumacher encountered a near-fatal injury while skiing, his family has been quite secretive about his condition and whereabouts. Some rumors emerged that the 55-year-old was in his lavish mansion in Majorca, Spain, where he was taken care of by his wife, Corinna, and several doctors and nurses.
Recently, however, his daughter Gina-Maria got married to Iain Bethke at their four-acre Majorca villa. According to the reports by the Mirror, Michale Schumacher was seen attending the wedding and got a chance to meet his friends and extended family members.
The reports also stated that the occasion was heavily guarded with a focus on privacy. People who attended the wedding were reportedly required to leave their phones at the entrance.
It was also reported that Michael's son, Mick Schumacher, proposed to his Danish girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic at her elder sister's wedding.
As of now, there is no confirmation whether the famous Ferrari driver was allowed to socialize freely at the wedding.
Michael Schumacher's family receives hefty compensation after German magazine's fake interview with the F1 driver
Michael Schumacher's family recently received a compensation from German magazine Die Aktuelle for promoting and claiming that they had done an exclusive interview with the seven-time world champion in 2023.
After the magazine promised that an exclusive interview with the F1 legend on its front cover was coming, many were interested to witness it. However, the Schumacher family filed a lawsuit since the said interview was actually an AI-generated video.
The German publication was discovered to be violating the family's privacy on previous occasions as well. One of their stories from 2014 made false claims that Corinna, Michael's wife, was having romantic relations with someone else. This case was also settled in court with the magazine having to pay compensation to the Schumacher family.
For the AI-generated interview with Michael Schumacher, the Munich High Court finally decided in favor of the Schumacher family as well. Funke Media Group, the parent company of Die Aktuelle, was mandated to pay a fine of €200,000 and make a public apology. The German media outlet even fired its chief editor to make things right.
