Reports of Mick Schumacher's failed Ferrari move, to compete in the World Endurance Championship, have been circulating in the F1 community lately. The Mercedes-AMG reserve driver shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram stories addressing the reports.

Much like his father and legendary F1 driver Michael Schumacher, Mick began his racing journey with go-karts. Winning several accolades in karting competitions, the Switzerland-born racer kept progressing through the junior Formula divisions. Before entering the pinnacle of open-wheel racing, Schumacher won the Formula 3 and 2 titles in 2018 and 2020 respectively.

Being a part of the Ferrari Driver Academy, Schumacher was offered a seat in Haas F1 in 2021 (Haas being a Ferrari customer). After a stint with the Gene Haas-owned US-based team, he was replaced by Nico Hulkenberg in 2023. Since then, Schumacher has been in a reserve driver role with Mercedes-AMG.

Apart from F1, Schumacher also competed in the 2024 World Endurance Championship season with Alpine's Hypercar team. Seeing the results in WEC, Ferrari is said to have offered the young German an endurance racing seat for the 2025 season. However, the deal eventually fell through for Schumacher, as several reports have claimed.

Amid the specualtion about his future, Schumacher posted a heartfelt message on his Instagram stories.

"Life doesn't always go as planned, and setbacks can be tough to face. But every challenge is a chance to learn, grow, and come back even stronger. This is just a chapter, not the whole story. The journey continues, and I'm determined to rise above it. Thank you all for your support, it means the world," Mick Schumacher wrote.

"F1 has always been a dream and it will always remain the dream" - Mick Schumacher spoke about Formula 1 aspiration ahead of his WEC debut this year

After competing in two Formula 1 seasons, Mick Schumacher was dropped from Haas F1 in favor of the more experienced Nico Hulkenberg in 2023.

Ahead of his debut in the 2024 World Endurance Championship with Alpine, the 25-year-old spoke about F1 being his dream in a media interaction.

"I mean, it does include a lot of hair pulling and tearing, and I feel like you don’t really see that. Obviously, this is the first media table that I’ve done this year (and) that shows a lot and says a lot in that sense, but F1 has always been a dream and it will always remain the dream," Mick Schumacher said (via Formula 1).

"Again, there is no reason to stay here, not race, fall behind everybody… I would rather go out there, find something to race and develop my skills. In the end, if that leads to no way back into F1 but leads to another career, then I am happy to do that," he added.

As of now, it appears that Schumacher has not received any other offers to compete on the F1 grid in the 2025 season.
