During his five-year stint at Red Bull Racing, Daniel Ricciardo entertained fans with hilarious and memorable moments. Once, he left F1 commentator Ted Kravitz embarrassed when the latter was noting his neck measurements.
Ricciardo, apart from being a fierce racing driver, was also a lively personality on the paddock. His humor made him a fan favorite shortly after he joined Red Bull in the 2014 F1 season. The Australian driver enjoyed a separate fan base, and the 'Drive To Survive' Netflix show only added to his popularity.
Meanwhile, Ricciardo's humor once put F1 commentator Ted Kravitz in an uncomfortable position. In an old interview posted by the YouTube channel 'Out Of Context F1' in 2021, Kravitz measured the Australian driver's neck and noted that it was slimmer than his neck.
"Only 16 and a half," Kravitz said.
To this, Ricciardo replied,
"Really? Your neck's fatter than mine? Why I said fatter? So I gotta do more weight, and you got to eat less burgers."
As the F1 commentator noted the measurements, Ricciardo took away the measuring tape and said,
"Might take this to the Bathroom now and get the other measurements," Ricciardo said, leaving Kravitz embarrassed.
Ricciardo was a Red Bull driver back then when the video was originally shot. He drove for the energy drink-based outfit from 2014-2018 before moving to Renault. Since that move didn't work out as per expectations, he moved to McLaren.
As fate would have it, Daniel Ricciardo failed to produce results with McLaren as well. He returned to Red Bull as a reserve driver and did multiple short-term stints with its sister team, Visa Cash App Racing Bulls. However, with inconsistent performance, the Australian driver was sacked after the Singapore Grand Prix in 2024.
Liam Lawson took his place and left an impact good enough to earn him a Red Bull seat. Meanwhile, Ricciardo remains with a seat for the 2025 season.
Daniel Ricciardo reacts to link-up rumors with Cadillac
F1 confirmed the entry of the 11th team, Cadillac, in 2024. The General Motors '-backed project will mark its official entry in the 2026 season. Moreover, Cadillac will also become an engine supplier at a future date.
Meanwhile, after Daniel Ricciardo was sacked by the Racing Bulls, rumors linking him to the Cadillac seat appeared on social media. The Australian driver, who remains without a seat for the 2025 season, reportedly held negotiations with the new team.
However, during a fan interaction, Ricciardo dismissed the rumors. When asked if the Cadillac rumors had any truth to them, he said,
'Naah, I'm done."
Ricciardo is 35 years old and has been in F1 for nearly a decade. However, despite being an 8-time race winner, he remains a free agent for the upcoming season.
