In a photo dump shared by Kelly Piquet, Penelope was seen hugging Norris before the latter headed out to his garage for the race. Fans showered love on the picture and praised the 'uncle-niece' bond between the 25-year-old driver and Penelope. One user wrote:

This isn't the first time fans witnessed the growing bond between Norris and Penelope. She gifted a sticker to the British driver before cheering for him at the podium ceremony.

Lando Norris won the Abu Dhabi GP, leading McLaren to the constructors championship. As he stood atop the podium, the 5-year-old screamed loudly to cheer for her 'uncle'.

Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet are expecting a child together. The couple broke the news hours before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Penelope is Verstappen's stepdaughter. Piquet gave birth to her during her previous relationship with racing driver Daniil Kvyat. Soon after separating from the Russian driver, the 36-year-old began dating Verstappen.

Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet's romantic relationship began in late 2020 before the model and her daughter Penelope Kvyat moved with him to Monaco. The 5-year-old was born in 2019 to Kelly and Daniil Kvyat. However, shortly after her birth, the couple parted ways, and the 36-year-old started dating Verstappen.

While the Dutch driver shares a close bond with Penelope, he once told the Times that he does not wish to be a father figure for his stepdaughter. He said Penelope already has a dad in the Russian driver and wants the child to maintain her relationship with her biological father.

"I’m not the father, that’s not the aim. It’s always very important that she has a good relationship with her own father, which she has. But I see her every day when I’m at home. We get on very well. She’s very cute," said Verstappen.
