McLaren CEO Zak Brown recently posted a picture with Red Bull team principal Christian Horner on his official social media platform. Both were seen flying back home together on a flight.

The team heads have not been on good terms for a while now. Brown previously complained that Red Bull had an advantage by commanding two teams in F1, while the latter complained multiple times about McLaren's car parts in 2024.

The on-track battle between the two teams also intensified in 2024, as McLaren is fighting strongly against the defending world champions.

After the Singapore GP, however, Zak Brown posted a wholesome picture with Christian Horner on his official X handle, captioning that peace had been restored in the sport as both team heads took a flight back home to the UK together.

Brown and Horner were smiling in the selfie with Brown showing a thumbs up. He then took a cheeky jibe at Netflix, asking where the filming team was when the positive side of the sport was reflected. He assured F1 fans that the battle between the two teams will continue but within the track walls.

"Peace in F1 has been restored on flight home (where’s Netflix when you need them!) - but the battle will continue on track. What an awesome sport!" Zak Brown tweeted.

Ever since the 2024 F1 season began, the defending world champions were challenged the most by McLaren, who drastically closed the gap in terms of pace and championship points. As the season progressed, so did the tussle between the two teams. While Max Verstappen also started struggling, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri clinched their first and second wins.

After the Azerbaijan GP, where Piastri won his second race, McLaren took the lead in the constructors' championship from Red Bull. It continues to lead while the reigning world champions chase the top spot. After the Singapore GP, where Norris took his third race win of his career, talks of McLaren and Red Bull's heated battle continued.

Zak Brown and Christian Horner share thoughts on McLaren's contested rear wing passing FIA tests

Red Bull boss Christian Horner and McLaren CEO Zak Brown commented on the latter team's flexing rear wing and how it was green-lit in FIA tests.

During the Azerbaijan GP, many noticed McLaren used an unusual rear wing that flexed slightly in high-speed sections. This allowed the DRS flap to open slightly and gave the car extra speed due to a small reduction in drag.

Teams like Red Bull and Ferrari complained about the British team's rear wing to the FIA. The governing body then checked the rear wing and green-lit it, but asked the team not to use it in the future.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Christian Horner gave his thoughts on how the FIA allowed it and how his team would not straightaway start making wings that flex like the McLaren's, even though it offers marginal gains.

“I mean, obviously, it passed the test, so as long as the FIA is happy with it then. It sets a precedent now for, you know, we don’t want to rush to design wings that deform like that. So, look, if it’s deemed okay, then everybody will do the same,” Christian Horner said.

Meanwhile Zak Brown told Sky Sports that the team's intelligent creativity and engineering allowed it to create the rear wing.

“It’s passed every single test. So I think this is Formula 1, and it’s clever engineering, and the FIA is fine with it. So it’s business as usual,” Zak Brown said.

After the Singapore GP, McLaren leads the constructors' championship with 516 points, while Red Bull chases the British team from second place with 475 points.
