Max Verstappen boosted F1 ticket sales amid rough patch
While Max Verstappen continues to earn from his website, his rough form of late also provided a boost to the United States Grand Prix organizers. As per the latest reports, the ticket sales for the upcoming race at Austin increased tenfold after Verstappen's dominance in F1 ended.
The three-time world champion was thoroughly dominant in the last two years where he claimed 34 victories in 44 races. This made him a clear favorite for the world championship and, as a result, reduced the demand for tickets on Grand Prix weekends.
However, coming into 2024, the defending champion is no longer a dominant driver. McLaren's brilliant rise with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri put an end to his supremacy. Besides McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes also had their share of success this season.
Seven drivers from four teams won races this season, and this put uncertainty over the next race's winner. All in all, fans in the United States sensed the opportunity and purchased tickets to see four teams and eight drivers jump for glory in the third week of October.
