Christian Horner shared his take on the recent Fernando Alonso-Liam Lawson feud from the 2024 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. Fernando and Lawson were involved in on-track skirmishes and verbal exchanges, and now, the Red Bull boss delivered his verdict on the controversy.

Alonso had a tough way of welcoming Lawson back to the F1 world in Texas when the two drivers met in the Sprint. Alonso and Lawson started their race from P14 and P15 on Saturday, and moments after the lights went out, they got down with their on-track battles.

Both drivers tried to outwit and outperform each other. However, neither of them could. As they got extremely close to each other during the race and were inches away from making contact, the Spanish driver became furious and called the Kiwi driver an "idiot."

Days later, Red Bull boss Horner touched upon the incident and stated that Liam Lawson, who returned to RB almost after a year, was going in the right direction. He also praised the RB star following his drive in the US Grand Prix weekend.

"When you’re upsetting Fernando, you know that you’re doing something right,” Horner told Sky Sports F1. “He [Lawson] is a tough, hard racer. I thought he looked like a veteran, to be honest with you. He’s a great racer."
"I think he can be very happy with that drive today. I thought he drove a great Grand Prix: starting 19, finishing in the points, some great overtakes. So he should be pleased with that.”

Lawson finished the race in P16, while Alonso ended up in P18. In the race on Sunday, the Kiwi star had a meaningful outing. He started the race from P19. He came home in P9 and picked up two points for himself and his team.
