Red Bull's latest teenage sensation Arvid Lindblad, has shared admiration for Max Verstappen as the young driver embarks on his journey to F1. The teenager is someone who has been spoken of very highly by both Christian Horner and Helmut Marko. The British-Swede driver competed in F3 in 2024, where he impressed everyone by winning 4 races in his rookie season.
The driver would be making his debut in F2 this season, and multiple reports suggest that if he does show something impressive, he will be promoted to F1 as early as 2026. Being a part of the Red Bull umbrella means that Arvid Lindblad has been in contact with Max Verstappen and has had a few interactions with him.
Talking to RacingNews365 this week, Arvid Lindblad had glowing praise for Max Verstappen and how the four-time champion conducts himself and offers advice.
"He's always very impressive on the racetrack, and to deal with him, he's always been really good to me. He's obviously very busy, but he still takes the time. We speak, not that much, a bit, whenever I've been in the hospitality. I've sent him the odd message just to have some advice, and he's always replied very quickly, or been very friendly. It's not like he's sent a very short, brief answer. He's gone into quite a lot of detail and really tried to help me."
Appreciating the Dutch's amicable attitude and 'friendly' nature, Lindblad added:
"So, yeah, he's been very friendly. For someone of his calibre, a four-time world champion, all the things he has in his mind, things he has to deal with, to take the time, to be open, honest and quite friendly to someone like me, who's coming up through the ranks, is very inspiring. Obviously, in the future, I want to be in Formula 1. I want to be a world champion, and seeing those characteristics and behaviors from him is something I aspire to have, hopefully in the future."
With Red Bull keeping an eye on the future as Max Verstappen cannot continue to race forever for the team, questions have been raised on who could be the next in line. Both Helmut Marko and Christian Horner have had glowing praise for the 17-year-old, especially compared to the other upcoming talent that the team possesses.
Arvid Lindblad opens up on learning about F1 from Max Verstappen
During the same conversation, Arvid Lindblad also explained how he's not close enough yet to F1 to gain a better understanding of the division. However, he mentioned that observing Max Verstappen during debriefs and gaining insights from the 27-year-old has been helpful to him in improving as a driver.
"I'm not close enough yet on the Formula 1 side to be in all the real detail to know. I've sat in a few of the debriefs and been able to hear how he how he goes about those. It's been quite clear, and helpful to me, about how I can also improve myself and the way that I communicate with the team."
Arvid Lindblad is on the precipice of making it to F1 and a strong F2 season could be the catalyst in tipping things over for him. If he does perform well with MP Motorsports, he could present his case to join Max Verstappen on the grid in 2026.
