F1 fans were left reeling after Red Bull driver Sergio Perez failed to make an overtake in the pitlane while his teammate Max Verstappen blasted past him during the recently concluded Brazilian GP. It was yet another disappointing weekend for the Mexican driver as he could only manage one point from the entire Sprint weekend.

The 34-year-old started the Sprint and main race from outside the Top 10 and made his way up. Despite being able to finish P8 in the Sprint race, he could not replicate the same in the main race as he finished in P11 in the wet conditions.

But in a clip floating on social media, Red Bull driver Sergio Perez was instructed by his race engineer to make his way past the car ahead at the exit of the pitlane. The six-time race winner replied:

As per F1.com, Perez said:

"We started the race with very cold tires because we didn’t know at the time we could change them like everyone else did. And then not having a car in front [on the grid], I [lost] the clutch and went into a massive amount of wheelspin, and then I ended up spinning into Turn 10 – it was a disaster.

"Then we pitted before the red flag, so nothing really worked! In the end, we were coming back, we had a couple of good restarts, and in the end, we were fighting with Lawson and then I lost the position to Lewis by going straight at Turn 4.”

Sergio Perez could only score seven points from the recently concluded Triple Header while his teammate finished on the podium twice in the same amount of races.
