Sergio Perez's future has been the talk of the F1 town, with his performances failing to impress many fans and pundits. His P17 finish in his home race in Mexico did not help his reputation either, as Christian Horner hinted at a possible driver change at Red Bull before the end of this season. Following that, a cryptic Instagram post from Sergio Perez's father, Antonio Demirbay, about his son has only added further grist to the rumor mill regarding the Mexican's future.

Max Verstappen has been carrying much of Red Bull's point-scoring burden this season. The Dutchman has scored 70% of the team's 512 points this season. Perez's poor results have eventually led to Red Bull falling to third in the constructors' championship.

Perez's future at the Milton Keynes-based outfit looks extremely uncertain. Antonio Garibay's Instagram post has now further increased speculation about the Mexican's seat. Garibay captioned the post:

Your first Formula 1 race Sergio Perez 2011 Grand Prix of Australia and his last race Grand Prix of Mexico 2024. His maximum pride, the most beautiful flag in the world. Always together until the end of the movie. Thank you Checo Perez today. You are the most known Mexican on the planet. You have to be very proud of what you have accomplished" (translated from Spanish).

He also wrote,

"Always remember that the worst race of your life was in Mexico when you were 12 years old and they kicked you out of the kartism of your country 2002 and look what you have accomplished. The best is yet to come. I love you son, see you next year 2025."

Sergio Perez's primary sponsor will cut ties with Red Bull if the Mexican is sacked - Reports

Red Bull could lose one of the team's as well as Sergio Perez's biggest sponsors next season. Mexican billionaire Slim Domit confirmed the possibility of leaving the reigning champions in 2025. However, the main reason being cited currently is not due to Perez's sacking, but the potential arrival of rival company AT&T as Red Bull's sponsor.

The Telmex president also confirmed that the firm's partnership with Perez would continue regardless of its decision. Domit said (via ESPN):

“We are talking with the team, we are still in talks, it is not yet defined, but the intention will always be to continue with Checo. As far as we can, we will always be with him, without a doubt.”

Slim also discussed the possibility of partnering with Williams prospect Franco Colapinto in the future. The Mexican company has sponsored several high-profile F1 drivers such as Bruno Senna and Esteban Gutierrez.

With Sergio Perez's future still on a tightrope, it would not be surprising if the Mexican organization parted ways with Red Bull. Losing a sponsor as big as Telmex could also have a big impact on the Austrian team.

It will be interesting to see if Sergio Perez continues at Red Bull in 2025.
