Sky Sports F1 presenter Danica Patrick showed her support for the US presidential candidate Donald Trump. She said that his leadership could make the country even greater than it already is.
Donald Trump was the president of the United States from 2017 to 2021, after which Joe Biden took office. For 2024, Trump is once again running for the presidency against the Democratic Party's nominee, Kamala Harris.
Appearing on Fox News on Primetime, Sky Sports F1 pundit and former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick was confused as to why Trump's slogan, 'Make America Great Again' (MAGA) was taken as an insult.
Patrick then expressed that she felt voting for Trump was reasonable. She praised the Republican Party nominee and the team he would bring if he gets into the office next year. She concluded by stating that Trump's tenure would make the country even greater.
"It's so confusing to me how when you say MAGA [Make America Great Again], it's meant to be an insult. I am passionate because it feels like voting for Donald Trump is like the vote of reason, it's like rational, reasonable choice," Patrick said.
"I feel like most of all though, what this country could be if he gets into office with all of the amazing, brilliant people that are supporting him, I feel like he could not only make America great again but make it greater than it has ever been," she added.
American F1 presenter explains why she never voted in the US elections before 2024
In the same interview with Fox, Danica Patrick was asked whether the rumors of her voting for the first time in her life in the 2024 US elections were true. She admitted that this would be her first time voting and explained the reasons behind it.
Patrick said that she made a rule not to complain too much about anything since she was not doing her part to vote, even though she had opinions that she kept to herself. Furthermore, Sky Sports F1 pundit added that she has been so engrossed in racing all these years that she never got into politics and had the time to vote.
"It's not something I'm proud of I would say, but it is true. One of the rules I had for myself and all of past elections, no matter what's happened I said, 'Look, if I don't vote, doesn't mean I don't have an opinion, but I won't tell anybody about it. I can't complain about anything because I did not do my part,'" Patrick said.
"For so long, it's all I did, racing. It was my focus. I had no time or energy to understand politics," she added.
There has been a lot of buzz in the country as the US elections approaches. It will take place on 5 November 2024.
