Former F1 world champion Damon Hill has criticized billionaire businessman Elon Musk on the latter's social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Hill responded to Musk for his recent post commenting on the UK's immigration policies and recent protests.

Musk has criticized the UK government for its handling of the situation in the country. He has repeatedly shared his opinion through tweets or retweeted posts about events in the UK.

Musk once claimed that a civil war was inevitable, commenting on an X post. Recently, Musk recently shared a post that said people side with "the resistance" in popular Hollywood films like Star Wars, The Matrix, V for Vendetta, etc. The post further said that when a similar situation occurs in "reality," this doesn't hold.

This particular post caught Hill's eye. In response to Musk's post, he wrote:

"This is infantile #Musk #X #Twitter."

Hill is a retired British F1 driver who won the 1996 F1 world championship 1996, and is also known for his fierce on-track battles with the now-legendary Michael Schumacher. Hill narrowly lost his second chance at a world title in 1994 and 1995.

After retiring in 1999, he started appearing on Sky Sports F1 broadcasts as a presenter.

Damon Hill agrees with Red Bull boss on Max Verstappen's racing mentality and driving style in F1

Former F1 world champion Damon Hill recently talked about Max Verstappen's aggressive driving style. He agreed with comments from Red Bull team boss Christian Horner that the Dutch driver would not change his style just because it felt aggressive to some people.

At the Austrian GP, Verstappen was chased by McLaren's Lando Norris. The Dutchman found the McLaren driver catching up several times due to the difference in their tires' wear and tear. The two had several wheel-to-wheel moments, on Turns 1, 3, and 4.

Eventually, both drivers collided on Lap 64. While Norris had to retire the car due to significant damage, Verstappen finished in 5th position.

After the race, Horner told Sky Sports that Verstappen wouldn't change his ways even after heated on-track battles like this one, and that Norris would have to learn how to fight against the Dutchman. Agreeing with the statement, Hill also gave his take on the defending world champion's style:

"Yeah I think it's probably true. I mean, what do you do about it? We can't get him to change it seems. His approach is very much his own approach. And I think he tried, Lando, he launched one [overtake] down the inside and nearly got away with it, took him [Verstappen] by surprise. But, as we know unfortunately, it later came to blows," Hill said.

Following a mid-season break, the 2024 F1 season will resume with the Dutch Grand Prix at the Circuit Zandvoort, on August 23-25.
