Lance Stroll was enraged with Lewis Hamilton for impeding him during the 2024 F1 Spanish GP practice session. The Canadian driver expressed his anger on the team radio right after the incident.

During any race session, drivers need to be extremely careful of their surroundings. If they are on a slow lap in practice or qualifying sessions, they need to move away from the racing line the moment a driver who is on a fast lap approaches them.

If the slow driver fails to move away on time, the driver on a fast lap is forced to brake. According to the nature of each incident, the FIA decides the type of punishment for impeding.

In the last practice session of the 2024 F1 Spanish GP on Saturday, Lewis Hamilton was seen impeding Aston Martin's Lance Stroll. The Canadian driver was on a fast lap and approached a corner where Hamilton's slow car was present. Hence, Stroll's flying lap was ruined.

He expressed his anger towards the seven-time world champion on the team radio, saying that Hamilton thinks he is alone on the track.

"Yeah, this s**t guy thinks he's alone on the track!" Stroll exclaimed.

Lewis Hamilton, on the other hand, acknowledged his mistake on Mercedes' team radio.

"I did not see him. My bad," Hamilton said.

When Lance Stroll's car arrived on his side, Hamilton showed a hand to apologize to the Aston Martin driver. However, at that point, Stroll was too angry to respond and simply nudged Hamilton's car with his car before storming off.

FIA reprimanded Lance Stroll for his antics after being impeded by Lewis Hamilton

After the third and final practice for the Spanish GP, the FIA race stewards summoned both Lance Stroll and Lewis Hamilton for the impeding and collision incidents.

They reviewed the onboard footage and talked to both drivers about the incident. The main issue was Stroll's behavior after he was accidentally impeded by Hamilton. The race stewards finally decided to give a warning to the Aston Martin driver for his aggressive driving to express his displeasure. The FIA released an official document that read:

"The driver of Car 18 stated that he got impeded by Car 44 into Turn 5 and that upset him. He admitted that he wanted to express his displeasure to the other driver by pulling over on him at the exit."
"Both cars made slight contact which was incidental. However, the Stewards consider the move made by Car 18, whilst not being dangerous, to be erratic and therefore issue a driving reprimand in line with precedents."

At the end of FP3, Lewis Hamilton managed to secure P6, while Lance Stroll was down in P17.
