Brad Pitt congratulated Lewis Hamilton following the Mercedes driver's British Grand Prix victory. Hamilton won a race in Formula 1 after 945 days, that too on his home soil, and Pitt wished him with a hug.

Pitt was at Silverstone with Damson Idris, a fellow actor, for the shooting of their upcoming movie titled 'F1'. They had their media pen for the movie, similar to F1 drivers' interviews after the completion of the race.

As Lewis Hamilton arrived for the post-race interview after the race-winning celebrations, he encountered the Hollywood maestro, who jumped in for a hug. The Mercedes star, smiling widely, left the spot soon after.

Hamilton's victory at Silverstone last Sunday was a monumental feat for him, for his team and for British fans. With the victory, the seven-time world champion recorded nine wins at a single venue, surpassing Michael Schumacher.

“I can’t stop crying!” Hamilton said after jumping out of the car. “It’s been since 2021, every day getting up, trying to fight, to train, to put my mind to the task and work as hard as I can with this amazing team."

The win also meant that Mercedes registered back-to-back victories for the first time since the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at Losail Circuit. Hamilton won two consecutive races in Qatar and Saudi Arabia in 2021.

The Silver Arrows claimed a victory at the 2024 Austrian Grand Prix through George Russell, prior to the British race.

The 2024 British Grand Prix was also Lewis Hamilton's last race at this circuit in Mercedes colors. The Brit is all set to move to Ferrari next season after signing a multi-year deal starting in 2025.

After his last home race for the Brackley-based team, Hamilton decided to dedicate his victory to the Silver Arrows.

“This is my last race here at the British Grand Prix with this team [before moving to Ferrari], so I wanted to win this so much for them, because I love them, I appreciate them so much, all the hard work they’ve been putting in all over these years," Hamilton said (via F1) .

The win helped the Brit trim the championship gap to his teammate, George Russell. Currently, Lewis Hamilton stands in P7 of the Drivers' Championship with 110 points, a point less than his compatriot who stands in P6.
