Zhou Guanyu gives a tour of his motorhome ahead of Austria GP

Kick Sauber driver Zhou Guanyu gave a glimpse into his motorhome ahead of the 2024 Austrian GP. The Chinese driver is amongst the many who will be leaving in a motorhome in Spielberg on June 30 as he tries to regain momentum in the 2024 season.

It is common for the F1 drivers to live in a motorhome while they race at the purpose-built tracks in the European leg such as Spain, Austria, Silverstone and Monza, etc. The commute to the track and the privacy are some of the positive facets of living near the track in a vehicle.

Ahead of the Austrian GP, there is a clip floating on social media as Zhou Guanyu gives a tour of his motorhome to his fans online. Despite being concise, the motorhome consists of a couple of washrooms, a kitchen, a living area with a TV, and a comfortable couch that Zhou revealed he uses to watch the ongoing Euros 2024. The motorhome also has a separate bedroom that could rival any hotel room.

It can house multiple people who are part of Zhou's team, including his manager, his trainer, and even some family members.

Zhou Guanyu analyzes his dismal Sprint Qualifying session

Kick Sauber driver Zhou Guanyu stated that his Sprint Qualifying session on Friday was 'messy' as he finished P20 and was almost half a second behind his teammate Valtteri Bottas in the SQ1 session.

As per F1.com, the Chinese driver said:

"While we used the morning’s practice session to collect some information and data, today’s sprint qualifying was quite messy for me. I only had two laps: I ended up running wide into the gravel on the first one and encountered heavy traffic on the second."
"This made it difficult to get a good time on the board as the tires were gone after the first attempt. However, looking ahead to tomorrow, I reckon that we should have more pace and shall be stronger than we were today – our focus is now on qualifying proper.”

Zhou Guanyu's teammate Bottas was more upbeat about the car but pointed out that he expected a better lap time, adding:

“The feeling with the car had been quite decent so far, and I was expecting our lap times to be better; I had two clean laps, and although the second one was deleted because of track limits, it wouldn’t have made much of a different, as it was only two-hundredths of a second faster."

It has been a tough season for both Kick Sauber drivers as they are the only team in the 2024 season who are yet to score a point in either Sprint or the Grand Prix after ten rounds and are P10 in the Constructor's Championship.
