As per latest developments, Lewis Hamilton met John Elkann during the Belgian Grand Prix. The Mercedes star who got the win on Sunday after his teammate George Russell's disqualification, seemed happy to have met the Ferrari chairman and his wife, Lavinia Borromeo, at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

As seen in the video on X, Elkann was in Belgium and visited Hamilton. As they stood outside Hamilton's Mercedes motorhome, the British driver came out with a smile towards Elkann and Borromeo and hugged the latter.

Hamilton shares an amicable relationship with Elkann, who played a major role in persuading the former to move from Mercedes to Ferrari. According to reports, Elkann was the one who first called Hamilton to speak about the switch.

The Briton had quite an eventful day at Spa on Sunday. The seven-time world champion started his Belgian GP race from P3 but went on to take the lead after quick overtakes on Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc.

He kept his lead in the race for large swathes but lost out to Russell after Mercedes had called him for the second pit stop. While Hamilton pitted for fresher tyres, Russell stayed out and gained an advantage.Hamilton closed down the gap but failed to overtake his teammate.

Eventually, George Russell came home ahead of Lewis Hamilton to take his second win of the season and third of his F1 career until the FIA stepped up. The FIA stripped Russell of his victory after they found that his #63 W15 was underweight by 1.5 kg.

That promoted the 39-year-old Hamilton to P1 and handed him his 105th GP win in Formula 1, the most by a driver. The Stevenage-born driver is P6 in the Drivers' Championship with 150 points after 14 races.

Lewis Hamilton rocked the F1 world when he announced that he's set to move to Ferrari in 2025. Reports say that the seven-time world champion signed a multi-year contract with the Prancing Horse in a staggering $446 million deal.

It means the most successful driver in F1 history is set to leave for the most successful team after 12 years with the Silver Arrows. Hamilton will replace Carlos Sainz and drive alongside Charles Leclerc.

As Mercedes are yet to find Hamilton's replacement, it will be a fascinating story if Lewis Hamilton wins his eighth championship with Ferrari and win them their 16th Constructors' Championship.
