Mercedes junior driver Kimi Antonelli and Ferrari junior driver Oliver Bearman displayed some of their best dance moves in a hilarious sequence on social media.
The F2 drivers are currently teammates at the Prema Racing team in the junior category and have been going hard against each other on the track.
Both drivers are vying for a slot at the pinnacle of motorsport in the 2025 season, with Antonelli being in contention for Lewis Hamilton's seat while Bearman's the prime favorite for Nico Hulkenberg's seat at Haas.
However, both drivers have gotten along like a house on fire and have enjoyed their camaraderie away from the track. In a video circulating on social media, the Mercedes junior and the Ferrari junior driver showcased their best moves in a dance sequence on the song 'Iko Iko' by Justin Wellington in the virtual world.
Kimi Antonelli recently completed his maiden test for the Mercedes F1 team at the Red Bull Ring as he drove the 2021 car for the team in his bid to join them in the 2025 season. As per Sky Sports, the Italian spoke the following about the test:
"I loved every second of it. First day didn't go as planned - we got some snow unfortunately, so we couldn't really drive - but the second day was dry and got quite a lot of laps [completed], and it was really good fun. Want to thank all the team for all their hard work. Excited for what's coming."
Mercedes team boss chimes in on Kimi Antonelli's testing program with the team
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff stated that Kimi Antonelli's testing program with the team had been set for some time and was a stepping stone to make him comfortable in the 2021 car before giving him the chance to drive the new generations of cars.
As quoted by the aforementioned source, the Austrian said:
"The program of Kimi driving Formula 1 has been in place for a long time and hasn't changed massively over the last few weeks. We're going to do a few of these days for him to get comfortable in an F1 car.
"He's driving the 2021 car in Austria for the first time. We want to give him a feeling of what a really good car feels like before we put him in the '22. Obviously, he's been our young boy for a long time and we're keen to see what he's able to do in a Formula 1 car."
It would be fascinating to see if Mercedes put him in the main team in his debut season and throw him in the deep end alongside George Russell.
