Scuderia Ferrari shared a special video to welcome Lewis Hamilton to the team as his contract with Mercedes ended. The video also featured his pet dog, Roscoe. Hamilton was signed with the team till December 31, 2024.

Hamilton is now officially a Ferrari driver. The team signed him before the start of the 2024 F1 season as he used an exit clause in his two-year Mercedes contract. He will replace Carlos Sainz, who will now race for Williams Racing. To welcome him to the team as the new year kicked in, Ferrari shared a video on its official Instagram account. It depicted the team giving the 39-year-old a follow on the platform and then subsequently following his pet dog, Roscoe. Here is the video:

"Welcome to the family, Lewis Hamilton," Ferrari wrote.

Roscoe is a 12-year-old bulldog and has grown quite popular amongst Hamilton's fans. He has a dedicated Instagram account (@roscoelovescoco) that has gained over a million followers. The Ferrari driver, who declared himself a vegan, has claimed that Roscoe is on a plant-based diet as well, and has shown positive changes since he switched his diet. His Instagram bio says the same.

"I’m a vegan bulldog that loves to travel, play ball and get attention from all the girls, especially when they rub my bum. I like frisbee and tennis🌱," Roscoe's Instagram bio reads.

Ferrari team boss expects to get back to work a day after Lewis Hamilton's arrival at the team

Lewis Hamilton's move to Ferrari was labeled as a blockbuster move by many. It is thought to be one of the biggest moves in the history of F1. The seven-time world champion had been racing with Mercedes since 2013. After over a decade of racing and six drivers' titles, it was rather unexpected for him to depart from the team.

It is apparent that there would be major celebrations down at the Ferrari HQ in Maranello with Hamilton's arrival. However, team principal Frederic Vasseur is expecting the entire crew to get back and focus on work from day two.

"Everybody all over the world is excited and for sure, the mechanics are also excited, but because it’s always exciting to have someone who is a seven-times world champion into the car," Vasseur told Sky F1.
"But I think after the day one, we’ll have to turn this page and to be focused on the job."

Ferrari finished the 2024 F1 season in second place as McLaren won its first constructors' title since 1998. The team developed really well during the second half of the season and took advantage of Red Bull's struggles. The Scuderia is expecting to have a strong fight in 2025 with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton pairing up.
