Honda recently made an advertisement for their racing division, which included the infamous collision between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in the 2021 F1 British GP. This was the year when both drivers fought hard for the drivers' world championship.
In the race at Silverstone, Verstappen and Hamilton started from the front row. While the Red Bull driver was leading the race, Hamilton tried to overtake the Dutchman from the inside of a high-speed copse corner.
Both cars were so close to each other that Verstappen's rear right tire touched Hamilton's front left. This resulted in the then-24-year-old driver losing control and crashing hard into the barriers, which put around 51G of force on the car.
Though Hamilton received a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points on his license, the Mercedes driver managed to win his home race and celebrated with full swing.
Hence, this crash became controversial and flared up both Verstappen and Hamilton fans. It was recently featured in Honda's advertisement.

In 2021, Honda was still Red Bull's engine manufacturer and actively worked with them. This was also the year when Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton were in an intense title battle with one another.
The championship race went down to the very last Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi, where Verstappen clinched his maiden world title.
Max Verstappen explains how his collision with Lewis Hamilton in 2021 caused him vision problems
Max Verstappen recently revealed how he suffered with vision problems after his crash with Lewis Hamilton in the 2021 F1 British GP.
While speaking to Red Bull's Red Bulletin Magazine, he shared the story of the Silverstone crash and how he had issues with visibility whenever he raced on tracks with uneven surfaces or with loads of off-track distractions after his crash.
This was when he picked the 2021 F1 US GP as the top seventh race of his career when he wanted to simply turn the car off but kept going while focusing on his breathing pattern.
"Since my Silverstone crash, I've been struggling with visibility problems, especially on undulating circuits or those with lots of advertising boards along the side of the track. In this race, I wasn't just battling against Lewis, but also against blurry images. It was like driving a speedboat at 300 km/h!" Verstappen said, via Motorsport.com.
"I've never told you this before, but for a few laps it was so bad that I seriously considered turning the car off. The only thing that helped was concentrating on my breathing while Lewis was breathing down my neck. An important victory that I desperately needed in the fight for the world championship," he added.
In 2021, Max Verstappen won his first world championship, after which he started his dominant era in F1, winning 2022 and 2023 F1 titles with much ease compared to 2021. He continues to lead the table in the 2024 F1 season but is pressured by McLaren's Lando Norris.
