Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton is a co-producer and advisor for the upcoming 'F1' movie by Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer praised the Mercedes-AMG driver for providing crucial insights during the review of the movie.

Set to hit theaters on June 27, 2025, the upcoming movie revolves around Brad Pitt's character Sonny Hayes, who is making a comeback to F1 along with a rookie driver Joshua Pearce played by Damson Idris. The duo, driving for a fictional team called APXGP, will be showcased competing against established teams such as Mercedes-AMG, McLaren, Red Bull Racing and Ferrari, along with the rest of the grid.

During an appearance at Liberty Media‘s investor day in New York, Bruckheimer praised the inputs Hamilton provided during the review of the movie, giving crucial inputs to make it more realistic.

"He (Hamilton) saw part of the movie yesterday, and he gave us a critique of how the drivers actually do various things. The level of specifics that he gave us, like in Silverstone in Turn 3, you’re in second gear, and he could hear with his ear we (Pitt's character) were in third gear. It’s that kind of thing that he’s bringing to the movie. The authenticity that (Hamilton) brings, and we just can’t imagine what goes into what a driver does, what the sport brings to an audience, and he gives it to us. Sometimes we don’t like to hear some of the things he says, because it costs us more money to fix things, but we’re all in," Bruckheimer said.
"We’re going to show what it takes to be an F1 driver. Everything that he (Hamilton) has brought to this movie, I can’t even express our thanks to him and all the folks from F1 who made this all possible. We want to make it great, and he’s certainly helping us," he added.

Bruckheimer's statement was shared on X by a Hamilton fan page. Here's a look at the post, captioned:

"Lewis has been an incredible partner" - 'Top Gun' director Joseph Kosinski on Lewis Hamilton's support for the upcoming 'F1' movie

'Top Gun' fame Joseph Kosinski, who is the director of the upcoming 'F1' movie, praised Lewis Hamilton during an interview with popular Hollywood-based publication Deadline. The 50-year-old Iowa-born filmmaker appreciated the Brit's support during the filming of the movie.

"Lewis has been an incredible partner. He jumps on Zooms with me between races to go through the script, line by line, turn by turn, you know, tire compound by tire compound, to make sure that we are getting all the details right. Beyond that, on a creative and story level, he also has input," Kosinski said.

Apart from assuming the role of an advisor, Hamilton is also a co-producer for the upcoming movie, along with Jerry Bruckheimer.
