It was another dull race for the F1 fans as Red Bull driver Max Verstappen showcased his dominance at the Miami GP, winning the race from P9 to secure his third win of the season.

The Dutch driver provided a masterclass of racecraft and skill as he picked apart his rivals bit by bit in a rather uneventful race at the Miami Autodrome. Despite the hype surrounding the race in Miami, F1 fans have yet to witness a 'classic' featuring close racing and exciting on-track action.

Fans on Twitter were not happy with the current state of the sport, with one fan even claiming that the sport is ruined for him while posting an image from the 2012 season, saying:

"I stayed out of trouble at the beginning and then just had a clean race" - F1 world champion

Red Bull driver and reigning double world champion Max Verstappen stated that he was happy with the performance and how he stayed out of trouble starting from P9 in Miami. Speaking to F1.com, he said:

“It was a good race. I stayed out of trouble at the beginning and then just had a clean race, picking the cars off one by one. Then I could stay out really long on the hard tires and that’s where I think we made the difference today. I had a good little battle with Checo at the end. We kept it clean and that’s the most important [thing] – it’s a great win today."

He continued:

“Yesterday was, of course, a bit of a setback. Today, we just kept it calm, kept it clean, and for sure, winning a race from P9 is always very satisfying. We started talking about it yesterday. We didn’t know what the weather would do, but we were quite confident it would pay off, and luckily it did today.”

Claiming the 38th win of his F1 career, Verstappen now leads his teammate Sergio Perez, who finished P2 in Miami, by 14 points after five races.

It will be fascinating to see if the Mexican can make headways into the Dutch driver's leads once the sport heads back to Europe in the next race onwards. Going to a more traditional F1 track will certainly work in favor of Max Verstappen compared to Sergio Perez.
