F1 fans were left confused after Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton sent a cryptic radio message at the end of the recently concluded 2024 Brazilian GP on Sunday. The seven-time world champion had a forgettable weekend at the iconic Interlagos track as he failed to get to SQ3 after getting P11 in the Sprint Shootout.

The Brit failed to make progress in the Sprint Race as he finished in P11 behind Williams F1 driver Alex Albon. But in the qualifying on Sunday morning, it got worse for the 104-time pole-sitter as he failed to get out of Q1.

Lewis Hamilton's misery was further compounded in the main race as he struggled to get ahead in the wet conditions and could only manage a solitary point at the end of a chaotic race. In his in-lap at the end, the Mercedes driver on his team radio said:

"That was a disaster of a weekend, guys. It's the worst the car has ever been. But Thank You for continuing to try and do a great job for all the guys at the pitstop. If this is the last time that I get to perform, it's a shame it wasn't great, but I'm grateful for you."

F1 fans took to social media to give their reactions to Lewis Hamilton's comments on his radio message on X, with one fan saying:

"What the f**k is my Goat talking about?"
"I think he’s referring to he can’t perform how he wants because the cars so aids."
"I guess we might see guest drivers the rest of the season?"
"It’s sad to see him so deflated in that car," said a fan.
"I still don't understand what you mean when you say "last time" if there are still 3 races to go," asked another.
"I just got what he said and meant with that radio: “To all the guys at the pit stops, if this is their last time that they get to perform (because of the rotation due to lot of races throughout the year), it’s a shame it wasn’t great…ecc ecc”. Hope I helped with it," claimed another.

Lewis Hamilton analyzes his Brazilian GP performance on Sunday

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton stated that he had no grip during the wet conditions at the Brazilian GP on Sunday and claimed that they were "just slow" throughout the weekend.

Speaking with Sky Sports, the 39-year-old said:

"We were just slow. The car was really, really tough. The team could have won also today, so at least one car was behaving a lot better. It's like a plank of wood. It's like, no suspension. It's bouncing on the tires everywhere and you can't get on the power anywhere.
"It's just the worst ride, I think the worst ride that we've definitely ever had, particularly through corners. It's just so stiff. But hopefully, we won't have any more bumpy tracks. I think the last three aren't so bumpy. But yeah, I could happily go and take a holiday."

Lewis Hamilton is currently P7 in the driver's championship with 190 points and trails his teammate George Russell by two points with three races and one Sprint remaining in the 2024 season.
