Lewis Hamilton hilariously commented on F1's official Instagram post about him lying down before the post-race press conference. The seven-time world champion bagged his first podium of 2024 by finishing third in the Spanish GP.
Mercedes kept struggling at the start of the 2024 F1 season as they tried to close the gap to other top teams like Ferrari, McLaren, and Red Bull. Before the Spanish GP, Hamilton's best finish was P4 in Canada, where several fans questioned Mercedes' tire strategy for the seven-time world champion.
Coming into Spain, however, Hamilton was upbeat and felt good in the car. He managed to top the timing sheets in FP2 and secured P3 in qualifying. During the Grand Prix, he had some intense battles with Carlos Sainz, and his teammate George Russell. In the second stage of the race, Hamilton had soft tires after the team noticed a dip in Russell's pace on hard tires.
This allowed the Brit to secure his first podium of the season in the Spanish GP. He finished P3, behind second-placed Lando Norris and race-winner Max Verstappen.
After the race, Lewis Hamilton was the first to arrive in the post-race press conference room. Hence, he decided to lie down on the couch and listen to some music. The wholesome scene was captured by several cameras.
Later, F1's official Instagram account posted a video of the Mercedes star lying down and bobbing his head to the music. However, they put generic soothing instrumental music in the post.
Lewis Hamilton himself commented on the official F1 post and stated that he was listening to Bob Marley, and not the instrumental music added to the clip. The comment received over 44,000 likes and 600 comments and continues to garner attention.

Lewis Hamilton was delighted to finish P3 in the Spanish GP. The seven-time world champion stood on his first podium of 2024 after the 2023 F1 Mexico GP.
Speaking at the post-race press conference, he thanked Mercedes' pit crew and strategists for their work during the race at Barcelona. He also touched on his poor start off the grid box in the beginning, which cost him a few positions.
"Yeah, it's been a good day, been a good weekend, a solid weekend. I have to say a big thank you to the team, because they've been training so hard in the pit stops. The strategy in the pit stops was really on point," Hamilton said.
"Unfortunately, a bit like Lando, I got a really bad start and obviously lost ground to the Ferraris. So it was a bit of a battle to get back to where I am now," he added.
After the race in Spain, Lewis Hamilton remains in eighth place in the drivers' championship table with 70 points.
