\While the post received major engagement with over a million likes, Kelly Piquet's comment was the one that stole the spotlight. Tagging Lando Norris, she commented:
"@landonorris you’re sitting in my seat 🤨."
Lando Norris' surprise P2 finish came ahead of the two safety cars that were deployed during the Chinese GP. The first was triggered after Valtteri Bottas retired at the side of the track with mechanical damage. The follow-up came during the restart after Yuki Tsunoda was forced to retire because of a collision with Kevin Magnussen.
The McLaren driver had the perfect opportunity to pit. After both Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen pitted for a fresher set of hard tires, Norris held the position till the end of the race and was able to repeat his best F1 result for the eighth time, finishing P2.
Max Verstappen on effortless Chinese GP victory: "We were incredibly quick"
Verstappen marked Red Bull's 100th pole position at Shanghai and led the grid for most of the race. This was yet another track that the Milton Keynes team was able to dominate on, extending their lead in the world championship.
Talking about the race, Max Verstappen told Nico Rosberg that the pace of the RB20 was considerably fast throughout the weekend, helping him with the victory.
"Yeah, it felt amazing. I mean, all weekend, I think we were incredibly quick. And yeah, it was just enjoyable to drive, every single compound as well. The restarts I think we all survived that well, and you had a car was basically on rails."
He further stated that he could "do whatever" he wanted to with the car.
"And yeah, I could do whatever I wanted to with it. And those kind of weekends are of course amazing to feel and of course then to achieve basically what we did this weekend is fantastic."
Max Verstappen leads the 2024 F1 world championship with 110 points, and Red Bull has a total of 195, including the 85 points from second place-sitting Sergio Perez.
Although it was a McLaren driver who accompanied the two RBRs on the podium, Ferrari has control over the second position in the world championship. The team has developed well enough and looked close to challenging the leaders in the earlier races.
