Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc congratulated fellow Ferrari WEC driver Antonio Fuoco with a heartwarming message. The latter won the 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier today, marking the team's second consecutive victory in the competition.

Ferrari AF Corse brought themselves to victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, part of the 2024 World Endurance Championship. The #50 car, driven by Nicklas Nielsen, Miguel Molina, and Antonio Fuoco was in the victory lane after a very competitive race. The other Scuderia Hypercar, #51, finished third, making it a double podium for the team.

As much as the victory in the historical event stands for, it is also a great progression for the team in the championship. Ferrari now has 99 points and are second in the standings, behind Porsche with 108 points. Charles Leclerc, who drives the #16 Scuderia in Formula 1, shared a heart-warming post for Fuoco on Instagram.

He wrote, addressing the driver's late father:

"Very happy for you, you deserve it all, you're great. Your dad will be very happy from up there, I love you big."

While Ferrari shine in the WEC, they have been making steady progress in F1 as well. The 26-year-old Monegasque driver currently sits second in the Drivers' Championship, and so does the team in the Constructors'. Leclerc recently pointed out some issues with the SF-24 where improvements can be made for the remainder of the 2024 season.

Charles Leclerc reveals weak points of the Ferrari SF-24

Although both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have won a race this season, there are some weaknesses that lure around their car. The Canadian GP was an unexpected disappointment for the team after a very competitive race just two weekends earlier at Monaco.

Leclerc revealed that the car seems to struggle on "long slow speed corners," something that the team noted earlier in China.

"I still believe that one of our weaknesses is the long slow speed corners. We've been struggling quite a bit in China because of that and this is still an area that we need to work on with the cars. So I would say that this is the main issue to address," GP Blog quoted him.

This reflects certain aerodynamic deficiencies in the car which can only be worked on by introducing newer upgrades in the upcoming races.

Although their competitors Red Bull were seemingly the only team to beat within the first few races of the 2024 season, it is seemingly apparent that they do not have the fastest car now. Interestingly, McLaren turned out to be the fastest one during some of the races this year.

The battle for the top still continues. The Spanish Grand Prix next week is expected to present a more thorough image on the competitiveness of the teams.
