Yuki Tsunoda shared that the Red Bull mechanics were "impressed" with his feedback on the car after stepping in for a post-season test. He said that both the trackside engineers and the ones working back at the RBR HQ were delighted with his input.

Tsunoda was behind the wheel of the RB20 for a post-season tire test where he took the car out on the Yas Marina circuit.

Seemingly, the test was positive for the Japanese driver, or so as he stated. He said that the Red Bull mechanics were impressed with his inputs and feedback during the running.

"I heard a lot about how impressed they were, particularly with my feedback," Yuki Tsunoda said during the Honda Racing event.
"This came not only from the trackside engineers but also from the engineers supporting remotely from Red Bull’s factory in Milton Keynes. They mentioned how impressed they were with my input."

Yuki Tsunoda has been racing for Red Bull's junior team since his debut in 2021. His consistency has improved over the years as he aims to join RBR in the future. Recently, Christian Horner declared him as one of the candidates for the team in the future.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner confirms Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson's candidature to replace Sergio Perez

Sergio Perez has raced with Red Bull since 2021. He was a strong and consistent driver which earned him the seat with the team during their dominant period. The beginning of the 2024 season was strong for him as he scored four podiums in the first five races. However, that was the last moment of glory for the 34-year-old in the entire season.

While his teammate Max Verstappen finished consistently in all of the races maintaining his stance at the top of the championship table, Perez had multiple questionable performances. That also led to the team slipping down and finishing third in the Constructors' Championship. While Perez scored only four podiums and did not win any races, Verstappen won his fourth consecutive F1 World Championship.

Although the team gave Perez a two-year extension earlier in the season, it is speculated to be canceled and he would be replaced by another driver.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner recently confirmed that Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson have emerged as candidates if a situation like that arises.

"I think Liam, in challenging circumstances, has done a very good job. If you analyse what he’s done in the time that he’s had and the race pace he’s had, I think he’s done a good job."
"I think Yuki’s done a good job, so in the event that anything were decided with Checo they would be the candidates we would look towards," F1 quoted Horner.

Liam Lawson joined Yuki Tsunoda mid-season at VCARB after the team sacked Daniel Ricciardo. Although there is a huge difference in the drivers' experiences, they both performed equally well in 2024.
