Force India driver, Paul di Resta, believes this year’s world championship should go to Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso.
The Scot belives that the Spaniard deserved it last year as well.
He said: “He should have been champion last year. For me, Alonso is the champion of 2012.”
Di Resta isn’t the only one sharing similar opinion after last year’s exploits, where the Spaniard was agonisingly close to lifting the world driver’s championship. Fellow peers voted Fernando Alonso as the best driver of 2012.
“He had his problems in Malaysia and Bahrain,” he said, “…but Ferrari looks very strong.
“I think he deserves the championship.“
Di Resta isn’t doing a bad job, either. He has been racing well in the Force India’s new VJM-06 and has come close to securing a podium finish, something that the Force India have struggled to achieve consistently in the past.
