Pirelli Motorsport Principal Paul Hembery has predicted an eighth different race winner for this season as he thinks Michael Schumacher will surprise the field in the European Grand Prix. Seven races of the 2012 Formula 1 season have passed and seven different drivers were seen on the top podium spot. It seems that Hembery thinks the season will break even more records. His opinion is based on Schumacher’s qualifying performance in the Monaco Grand Prix.
Hembery: “I think you have to look at someone like, maybe Michael getting the pole position. He probably would have won Monaco if he had not been penalized, so why not there? Michael for Valencia; that is where the money needs to go.”
“We know Valencia is a tough track to create an exciting race. It is hard to overtake and it has got elements of Monaco from that point of view. There will be some high temperatures, of course and we are going there with the soft and medium tire; so we should have less degradation.”
