Red Bull has received a warning from the President of the German motor sport association DMSB, Hans-Joachim Stuck. Both Sebastian Vettel and Dr. Helmut Marko commented that the safety car of the Valencian Grand Prix was used to stop Vettel from domination the race. Stuck warned that accusing the FIA of such behaviour can be seen as ‘unsportsmanlike conduct’.

Vettel was leading the race with a gap of 20 seconds from his fellow drivers when the safety car was deployed. The German driver is convinced that the decision was made not only to clear debris from the accident between Vergne and Kovalainen but also to “break our neck”.

Also the adviser of Red Bull, Dr. Helmut Marko agrees with Vettel’s statement. “Vettel was too far ahead and so the field was brought back together,” the Austrian said. “Just as they do in American racing.”

However, Stuck things Vettel’s statement is unfounded and that he just can’t stand that he lost. “Sebastian Vettel should learn to be a good loser,” Stuck said “It was clear there was debris on the circuit, representing a danger of puncture to the other cars. For that reason, the safety car was justified.”
