The retired Formula 1 driver Mark Webber stirred rumors of George Russell's engagement to girlfriend Carmen Mundt. The current F1 pundit left fans speculating after he made a peculiar comment on an Instagram post of the young British racer.

George Russell posted a funny workout-related post on Instagram. In the video, Russell, his girlfriend, and performance trainer Aleix can be seen performing an extreme workout session. The clip shows the trio on different equipment in the 'Before' part, and then laying on the floor, completely exhausted, in the 'After' part.

Mark Webber commented on the post, instructing Russell to help Mundt with her rowing technique. However, he did so by calling her Russell's 'Bride'. A screenshot of the now-deleted comment was shared by an F1 fan on X (formerly Twitter):

"Did Mark Webber just confirm George and Carmen’s engagement through an Instagram comment"

However, there has been no confirmation from the young couple on either of their social media pages. Here is Russell's aforementioned Instagram post:

"Before vs. after 😅 Pushing through the triple-header grind 💪"

Carmen Mundt and George Russell have reportedly been in a relationship since 2020 and have been seen together on several occasions. They allegedly first met in London through a mutual friend. As for Mundt's background, she has a degree in business management and finance from the University of Westminster and is currently working with an investment firm.

Here's a brief look at George Russell's 2024 Spanish Grand Prix weekend

Mercedes-AMG F1 driver George Russell began the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix weekend on a positive note. The British driver managed top-10 finishes in the Free Practice sessions (fourth in FP1, eighth in FP2, and fifth in FP3) at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Russell was further able to capitalize on the newly upgraded W15 by grabbing fourth position in the Qualifying. He narrowly missed out on the third position to his teammate Lewis Hamilton in Q3 (the latter clocked 1:11.701, while the former set 1:11.703).

Despite the setback in Qualifying, Russell managed a near-perfect start on Sunday, taking the lead in the race on turn 1 from Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen and McLaren F1's Lando Norris. However, he soon lost the position to the duo owing to the W15's lack of speed.

Russell's first and second stints on the soft and medium-compound tires went as expected by the team, where he was able to maintain the lead over the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. However, his last stint on the white-walled hard tires lacked pace. This was also witnessed with other drivers on hard tires (notably Sainz).

Despite this issue, the young Briton managed to hold off the late-race charge by Leclerc on the faster soft-compound tires. Russell managed to finish the race in fourth position.
