The organizers responsible for the new Russian Formula 1 circuit promise to deliver a ‘top-class racing track’. The circuit is due to be completed ahead of the inaugural 2014 Russian Grand Prix and will be situated in Sochi, where the Winter Olympics of that year will be held. Despite of latest rumors stating that the track is facing delays, Mikhail Kapirulin (head of Omega; the company responsible for the built of the track) said everything is going well.

He said: “We solved all the problems in projecting the track. We are building the track in tight co-operation with our colleagues, who are building Olympic venues in Sochi. It makes us confident that we will build a top-class racing track in Sochi. It will be a great track.”

Lewis Hamilton however, said he would rather see a race in Moscow, where he did a demonstration run over the weekend. He commented: “I like street races very much. It is terrific to see the city’s architecture and people during the race; it is just an unforgettable feeling. It would be great to race in the night in Moscow like we did in Singapore. Many Formula 1 pilots like that race most of all.”
