With the 2013 Formula one Grand Prix season ready to kick start, all the teams have geared up and revealed their promising new cars. Many of the teams have changed their drivers to try and get the best required for a win. But the champions of last year, Red Bull Racing Team, look pretty confident with the way things are going for them. They obviously have the best pit crew and the team of engineers to produce a world class machine. But more importantly, they have two outstanding drivers with them on whom they can bet hands down and that’s the reason they were retained to race for Red Bull even in 2013.
As we heard on the team radio of Red Bull on the final race of 2012 in Brazil, ‘You are the man’. They were ecstatic as their man became the triple world champion. Yes, we are talking about none other than Sebastian Vettel. There is no stopping this German driver. He is definitely on the verge of creating history. He knows if he win this year’s championship, he will be the only person to win four titles in a row. Even the critics believe that from whatever position, whether it’s a pit start or at the back of the gird, he has the ability to ensure that he scores points for himself and his team every time when he is on the track. He is a craftsman who knows how his car needs to be handled. His passion, his determination and his love for his car and the sport makes him a true champion. Last year, Ferrari‘s Fernando Alonso gave Vettel a run for his money, but in the end he stood up tall and victorious, winning by a margin of a mere 3 points. But still, it will be interesting to see how the line up will be and if anyone could be the poker face to spoil his party, which a lot of people believe it’s hard to happen.
Red Bull Racing, to win the constructors championship, not only counts on Sebastian Vettel, but they have a very dynamic driver with them – Mark Webber, a 36 year old Aussie. Few say that he is quite rusty while driving. But the fact is that he is one of the most aggressive drivers we have in formula one today. He is like an unsung hero for his team. He has won many of the races with his Red Bull car and helped seal the constructors championship with his teammate Vettel. However, he is a bit controversial, with his recent act being walking out of the drivers’ press conference during the Indian Grand Prix 2012. And who can forget his rivalry with his teammate Vettel, which sometimes turned nasty. So, it’s not only his driving, but his personality as well that attracts his fans. But still, he is a prominent and crucial member of the team.
The new Red Bull car has been revealed and the team looks exited with the features. They want to leave no stone unturned. Red Bull Racing’s Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey, looks satisfied with his engineers and crew on doing some extraordinary work on the car. The team realize that after a tough fight for the drivers’ championship in 2012, every team is buckled up and ready to enter the battle for the 2013 formula one season with high spirits. It will also be interesting to see how Red Bull, alongside other teams, handles the few changes in regulations, about the DRS system and Pirelli tyres.
Ultimately, Red Bull team has an upper hand with all the experience they’ve got and the confidence they’ve gained from their previous victories. Winning has become their habit. It is really going to take some hard hitting action for the other teams to get past Red Bull. And I reckon, that is what is going to make the 2013 Formula One season breathtaking. So fasten your seat belts and get ready for some action. Formula one is about to start.
