Ferrari team Principal Stefano Domenicali has said that there is no friction between driver Fernando Alonso and the team despite heavy rumors suggesting a spat.
“I don’t know if you want to see shadows around or something, but it is time to stop with these things of saying there is something with Fernando. Honestly I don’t see it. That is my point of view and I am sure it is the same point for Fernando,” he said.
The relationship between Alonso and Ferrari has been through a roller coaster ride throughout the season, most notably in Hungary when Alonso was criticized by Luca di Montezemolo for the comments he made. And as a result, Alonso has been also linked with a possible move to McLaren in the near future.
However, Domenicali insisted that Alonso and the team are focused and still motivated to extend the journey.
“There are no changes in our motivation to make sure we can win together. This is the focus we have and this is the target – no doubt,” he said.
