Canada always throw some exciting Grands Prix and the 2014 edition of the race was no exception. The race lived up to its expectations with an early battle between the Mercedes drivers before the duo was hit by reliability issues relating to their ERS unit. While Hamilton retired due to brake problems which were directly related to ERS failure, Rosberg continued and eventually finished in second place, increasing his advantage to 22 points in the drivers standings.
However, it was the ever smiling Daniel Ricciardo who recorded his first Formula 1 victory with a superb drive from 15th on the grid. The race unfortunately ended with a massive shunt between Felipe Massa and Sergio Perez on the run down to first corner. We are happy to report that both drivers are okay and discharged
